Confessions Of My Life | Where The Journey Began

There are books we write because we have information to share. There are books we write because they have lived within us for years, waiting for the right time to emerge.

Confessions of My Life is the latter.

Originally published on July 28, 2014, this book represents the fulfillment of a dream that remained in my heart for more than two decades before finally becoming a reality.

Looking back now, I recognize it not only as my first published book, but as the foundation upon which many of the projects that followed—including…

Really!: A Caregiver’s Journey of Faith, Exploitation, and Freedom, the SOULINK™ Framework | The Imprint Principle, and the work of The Way 4Word Enterprises (TW4W)—would eventually be built.

An Expression of the Heart

Confessions of My Life is an expression of the heart.

It was written to encourage those who have experienced life’s victories and disappointments, moments of certainty and seasons of questioning, while continually discovering the faithfulness of God throughout the journey.

Rather than telling my story through a traditional autobiography, the book unfolds through poetry, personal reflections, devotional writings, and practical encouragement.

Each section captures different seasons of growth while pointing consistently toward God’s grace, purpose, and transforming power.

My hope has always been that readers would not simply read the pages, but recognize pieces of their own journey within them.

Three Parts, One Message

Part I: Confession of My Life

The first section contains a collection of fifteen poems that grew into something I never anticipated.

Years before Confessions of My Life was published, I was preparing a small collection featuring fourteen of those poems. As I arranged them, I discovered that their titles formed a poem of their own.

What began as a simple table of contents became a creative expression, eventually inspiring both a poster and the cover illustration.

Instead of publishing the poetry collection at that time, I focused on marketing the posters. When Confessions of My Life was later published, those fourteen poems became part of a larger collection, joined by one additional poem.

These poems explore questions of purpose, dependence upon God, perseverance, worship, prayer, and the continual pursuit of His righteousness.

Together they form a spiritual journey that begins with honest searching and concludes with the declaration that God is All in One.

Part II: Sharing My Thoughts

The second section offers selected journal reflections gathered over many years.

These writings explore everyday lessons about obedience, humility, worship, courage, gratitude, relationships, faith, and spiritual growth.

Although written at different times and under different circumstances, they are united by one desire—to encourage readers to walk more closely with God while navigating life’s everyday challenges.

Many of these reflections were never originally intended for publication. They were personal conversations with the Lord that eventually became opportunities to encourage others.

Part III: Self-Actualize

The final section presents one of the earliest concepts that would later influence my approach to intentional living.

Rather than viewing self-actualization from a purely human perspective, I explored it through the lens of Scripture. Central to this section is the acronym:

S.E.L.F. — Seek Eternal Life First.

From that foundation, additional biblical principles encourage readers toward a life marked by purpose, accountability, love, truth, unity, wisdom, and spiritual maturity.

Even today, I can see how these ideas quietly prepared the way for what would eventually become the SOULINK™ Framework.

A Thread That Continues

As I reflect on Confessions of My Life, I see more than my first published work.

I see the beginning of a lifelong calling.

Many of the themes introduced in these pages—faith, personal growth, stewardship, relationships, influence, perseverance, and leaving a meaningful legacy—have continued to unfold throughout my later writing.

Readers who have discovered Really! may recognize familiar threads.

While the books differ greatly in style and subject matter, they are connected by the same desire: to point people toward hope, purpose, and God’s faithfulness in every season of life.

From My Heart

Every meaningful journey begins with a single step.

For me, Confessions of My Life was that first published step.

It reminds me that dreams delayed are not necessarily dreams denied. Sometimes they are simply waiting for the right season.

If this book encourages you to draw closer to God, pursue the dream He has placed in your heart, or persevere through a difficult season, then its purpose continues to be fulfilled.

May these pages inspire, encourage, and remind you that your own story is still being written.

The journey continues.

Before you go, enjoy this special bonus: Confession of My Life, the poem that inspired the title of Confessions of My Life. May it encourage your heart as much as writing it encouraged mine.

CONFESSION OF MY LIFE

I once asked these questions:
WHERE IS GOD
and
WHY AM I HERE?
That led to my
ACKNOWLEDGING GOD’S PRESENCE.
I realized that whatever the circumstance
LIFE GOES ON
and, above all,
HE CARES.
So I asked Him to
GIVE ME STRENGTH
and hoped that
I WOULD BE A PERFECT BEING.
I whispered to Him
MY PRAYER
saying, Lord, I am
PANTING TO POSSESS YOUR LOVE.
He drew me closer to Him, so I declared,
LORD, YOU ARE MY HEARTBEAT.
As I strive to be at one with you, I am
SEEKING AFTER YOUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
When I can’t make it, I know
GOD CAN.
He is my
GOD: ALL IN ONE!
